Release history
New features, fixes and the occasional rewrite.
Added the Wave Form effect - it runs a channel you choose smoothly up and down between a minimum and a maximum.
Compatible with 8.0.
Added the Timer effect: hold a chosen value on a DMX channel for a set time, then restore it or set a new one. Snap and Fade Chases are simpler - no fixed number of chases, every saved chase is available by name from one panel, and any number can run at once.
Compatible with 7.9.
Bugfixes.
Compatible with 7.8.
Added Play Mode, which locks most of the interface so only the Scene Faders, Palettes and Mixed pages are visible - playback controls only.
Compatible with 7.7.
Optimised the way chases are saved, organised and updated.
Compatible with 7.6.
Added UDP Control, mapping incoming UDP commands to palettes for triggering from external devices and software. Also new: the Mixed page, showing palettes and scene faders side by side.
Compatible with 7.5.
Added the Fixture Pixel effect - run pixel effects across the individual emitters of multi-emitter fixtures.
Compatible with 7.4.
Added two GDTF fixture file makers. Manual To GDTF turns a fixture's PDF manual into a working GDTF file automatically, reading the DMX chart, gobos and colours. The Simple GDTF Maker lets you lay out channels by hand. Both save a standard .gdtf file - no external tools, no fixture-library account.
Compatible with 7.3.
General optimisation and improvements.
Compatible with 7.2.
Added the Kick Analyser: SDC detects the kick drum from any audio input, so every BPM-triggered effect can now be triggered by a kick instead. Also added the Dimmer Kick effect.
Compatible with 7.1.
Simpler way to add dimmer packs - a fixture file is no longer needed.
Compatible with 7.0.
Major upgrade. SDC now runs as two programs working together - a GUI and a dedicated lighting engine. The engine owns all DMX output and runs independently of the interface, making SDC more stable and responsive and laying groundwork for future remote and multi-screen features. You start the app exactly as before. Also includes many fixes across colour faders, dimmer and chase effects, timeline, scene faders, pixel strip and remote configuration.
Existing configurations and show files open in 7.0, but because of the size of this upgrade we strongly recommend uninstalling 6.5 first and rebuilding your show from scratch.
Major upgrade. Remote control arrives, via the built-in web remote or a new stand-alone app from the download page.
Not compatible with 6.4 - engine changes were required. The app opens with default settings and previous configurations do not carry over.
Added Eurolite DXT PoE Art-Net Node I, DXT Pixel Art-Net Node IV and DXT DMX Pixel Converter PRO to the confirmed device list. Per-universe Art-Net routing added - each universe can go to its own node.

You can now use a user-defined image as a colour picker.
Compatible with 3.1.
Officially a minor release, but a substantial one. Position GUI completely redesigned for a wider range of screen sizes, with fanning added for even distribution of pan and tilt across fixtures, plus other refinements. ColorMix expanded with more colour options, and many GUI performance and stability optimisations. From this version the app installs to a new default location, so no administrative privileges are needed to install or update.
